  step 1: warming up

  ask ss to think discuss three questions in pairs.

  step 2: presentation

  discuss the questions with your partner on page 5. (2a)

  2、while reading

  a. first, listen to the first diary and answer following questions.

  b. then, listen to the second diary and answer questions:

  c. read the diaries again and underline the following phrases.

  a. ask ss to read the two diaries smoothly and imitate the pronunciation and intonation.

  b. then, finish the conversation in activity “2d” with the information in the diaries.

  c. role-play the conversation in pairs.

  step 4: exercise: activity “2e”

  1、imagine jane went to penang hill again and had a great day. fill in the blanks in her diary entry with the correct forms of the verbs in brackets.

  2、ask one student to read it out loudly to check the answers.

  3、try to remember the past tense of these verbs.

  1、学习掌握有关评价事物的形容词:delicious, expensine, exciting, cheap, terrible, boring and so on.

  2、能运用be+形容词来评价事物,如:t he people were friendly.

  3、熟练地谈论表示过去发生的事件——学习一般过去时的用法.

  三、教学重难点:

  1、能运用be+形容词来评价事物。

  2、熟练地谈论表示过去发生的事件,熟练运用动词过去式。

  四、教学过程:

  step 1: revision

  1、show some adjective words on the ppt and ask them to read and get the meaning of them.

  2、fill in the blanks.

  step 2: presentation

  1、brain-storm. ask them to make a list of description words in groups.

  2、get them to know the use of these words.

  3、divide these description into two parts on the blackboard.\

  4、then finish activity “1b”. divide the words in “1a” into these two parts.

  5、read these words and make sentences with them.

  step 3: listening

  1、read the four questions in “1c”and get the meanings.

  2、listen to the tape and answer the four questions.

  3、listen again, and use some description words to fill in the blanks in activity “1d”.

  4、listen and repeat.

  step 4: practicing (1e)

  1、first, ask ss to read this conversation and then role-play it in pairs.

  2、then, with some key words, let the ss ask and answer questions about lisa’s vacation with “she”.
