一、教材分析:
本模块以出行旅游为话题,通过大量的语言材料集中展示了纹路、支路、对某一区域进行描述的语言表达方式,同时对伦敦的一些著名景点和标志性建筑物也做了简单介绍。
二、教学目标:
(一)语言知识目标:
1.正确使用下列单词和短语:
tour, painting, clear, boat, off, tower, get off, turn left, turn right, go along, on the right, on the left.
2.能够熟练运用下列句型:
take off the boat back…
get off the boat at…
(二)语言技能目标:
1.能够读懂对地图的描述,读懂对某一个地方的描述。
2.能够根据地图讲清路线,描述某个地点的位置。
(三)学习策略:
1.能够将语言学习与实际应用结合起来。
2.问路与指路应该有礼貌。
(四)情感目标:
乐于参加运用英语的实践活动,乐于了解其他国家的文化。
三、教学过程:
step1 warming up
ask the students some questions:
where have you been?
have you ever been to london?
which place do you know about london?
which place is the london eye?
step2 reading and vocabulary
1. read the tour of london and follow it on the map.
have the students look at the map and familiarize themselves with the places. explain that they should draw the route given in the passage on their map.
they can then check with a partner.
2. have the students read the passage by themselves. then ask them to find out the following phases.
1)在…的中间 2)在某人的右边

3. explain some important points.
辨析:above , over与on
(1)above的意思是“在…之上”,可指“在…斜上方”,既不接触,又不一定垂直,只是位置“高于…”。新课标第一网

the temperature will stay above zero in the daytime.
(2)over的意思是“在…之上”,常常可以和above替换,它着重指垂直在上,且不接触。还可以表示“盖在…上面,铺在…上面”,用作此意时,不能和above替换。

(3)on的意思也是“在…之上”,但它含有和表面相接触的意思。

step3 listening
mark the places on the map.
play the tape through once for the students to listen and focus so they can understand the meaning of the places. play it again for them to check the meaning. then ask them to write names of the places next to the buildings on the map. the places are:

check the answers with the whole class, ask one student to say the answers.
step4 say which places you can see in the photos.
ask the students to decide this individually, and then check with a partner. then call back the answers from the whole class.
step5 match the words with the pictures.
ask the students to look at the pictures and complete the activity individually, and then check with a partner.
step6 writing
write directions to places in london. choose a place to start on the map, and then choose a place to finish.
ask the students to do this individually, and keep their destination a secret from everyone.
